The neonatal phase is defined as an infant's first four weeks of life. Many complicated physiologic changes occur during this time, and the infant interacts with various stimuli. During this time, you should receive consistent and effective care. The evaluation for the necessity for resuscitation, a full physical exam, the delivery of preventive drugs and immunizations, proper feedings, safe sleep, newborn hygiene, and other critical areas for the baby's wellness are all part of newborn care. At the time of birth, growth characteristics and behavior are examined. The assessment is postponed until one hour after skin-to-skin contact with the mother is established and breastfeeding is initiated if appropriate and requested in the case of a normal spontaneous vaginal delivery or a Cesarean section with no difficulties. In the first twenty-four hours of life, a pediatrician or nurse practitioner examines the infant. A team with experience with the equipment, training, and resources is in charge of assessing and responding to any resuscitation attempts that the newborn may require at the time of birth. If resuscitation is required, the Neonatal Resuscitation Guidelines are helpful.
